The tag says it was made in India. We removed the blanket from the package and inspected it carefully, but haven't washed it yet. We're waiting until shortly before it is needed. The instructions on the tag say to wash in cold water on gentle cycle and dry on low heat. The outside feels like good quality, soft cotton. The stitching looks top notch. This includes little "X"s sewn in at random which help keep the layers of the blanket together. Actual measurements on our blanket were 29" x 39-1/4".Value wise the blanket was priced around $19 when I ordered it. You can find less expensive newborn blankets, but in this case you're going for quality and peace of mind. The Butterblu quilted blanket is GOTS certified. GOTS certification not only ensures that the fabric is made of organic fibers but also that it is ethically sourced with strict social and ecological standards from raw materials to finished product.. Combine that with the high craftsmanship and that is what makes the blanket a good value.

This is an incredibly soft little blanket.The 30" x 40" size is nice because it's big enough to be useful for quite a while and isn't one of those tiny baby blankets that gets outgrown almost immediately.It was soft right out of the package, but we washed it before giving it to our niece and her new son. After that first wash, it somehow became even softer. It honestly feels like a little luxury blanket.The new little guy seemed to approve as well because he slept wonderfully with it.Overall, this is a very well-made, super-soft baby blanket that feels much more expensive than it is. It made a lovely gift and was very well received.
